This is the inaugural post for “Curator & Collector: A Blog about Museums and Collections for Numismatists and Other Collectors of Historical Artefacts.” I grew up reading about ancient Greece and Rome and collecting Canadian coins and paper money, having always felt the attraction of the historical. For some time now, I have wanted to blog about numismatics, collections, and museums, and this new blog is the first-fruits of that desire. I hope that you, whoever you are, will find it interesting, and I trust that you will feel welcome both to visit and to comment.

In the next few days, I plan on overhauling the theme to get rid of some of the leftovers from another project. Categories will be added, and posts written, sites linked, and images displayed. In the future, I hope to conduct and post interviews with those who are part of the fields of interest, whether in education, business, or any other sub-field: curators, collectors, sellers, and auctioneers. Finally, readers can look forward to what I hope will be daily or near-daily news updates.
