Canadian 1935 Silver Dollar with King George V

A 1935 Silver Dollar

It’s been a very long time since any posts went up here, but with a vacation in the works in about one week, I can see more posts going up. Work has been wonderful, and busy, but I have certainly not given up on posting here, or on writing about numismatics.

In terms of personal updates, I sold some of my coins, including the coin that was atop my meditation on the 1935 silver dollar, but bought this one and a number of others. It shows some wear, but I liked the colour so much that I fell in love with it at first sight–and it was only $20, about half the price of my original one. I continue to be amazed at how, for the price of about two McDonald’s deluxe burger meals, one can get coins that offer such pleasure with every viewing.

Stay tuned for reviews of some of the Royal Canadian Mint’s commemorative 2008 products!
