Numismatics Stories of the Day: The Priceless Coin of Memory
The subtitle comes from Thomas Cangelosi in Courant.com. Thomas writes thoughtfully of the memories brought back as he systematically rolls a decade’s worth of coins. An excerpt:
It’s a laborious, dirty business, and my fingers are stained from the residue of innumerable hands making countless business transactions.
Some might say it’s not worth the effort, but I’ve discovered the coins also carry a more indelible and valuable residue — memory.
In other news, the Nashua Telegraph notes that Alan Stahl claims he doesn’t have a personal coin collection. Perhaps he feels that if one is in charge of Princeton University’s numismatic collection, one doesn’t really need one. Read the article for some interesting tidbits.

UPDATE: The BBC is reporting a fire at the Royal Mint in Llantrisant, Wales.
